Special Event
Learn how programs in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHaSS) can lead to careers in caring and service professions. Meet virtually with advisors and faculty as we answer questions about majors in Social Work, Sociology, Anthropology, and Communication Studies.
We’ll start with an overview for all interested students at 11:30am and then breakout into groups. Participate in one or more sessions by joining the conversation at the appropriate time:

On Thursday, June 11, we'll feature Andrea Sandry Jensen(BALiberal Arts, MS Instructional Technology) discussing the importance of finding a mentor. Andrea’s varied and fulfilling career path has included work in advising and instructional design and recently saw her pivot from higher education to the corporate sector.Hear how Andrea’s mentors have helped her make successful career transitions and discover strategies for finding a mentor of your own.

On Thursday, June 25, we'll feature Ben Oyler (BS Speech Communication) discussing perseverance in the workplace. Ben currently serves as the CEO for the Laboratory for Advanced Medicine and has held several executive positions with large corporations and startups alike. He’ll talk about the skills needed to both stay and advance in your career. After all, it’s not just about finding that first job, it’s about keeping that dream job and achieving your career goals.
