Biography

Mark Brunson is a professor of Environment and Society at Utah State University. Trained in ecology and social psychology, he applies methods from both disciplines in his study of the linkages between natural and human systems. He has worked primarily, but not exclusively, in the rangelands and forests of the Intermountain West. Recent areas of focus include: dynamics of collaboration among private landowners and public land managers to achieve conservation outcomes across ownership boundaries; uptake of ecological restoration innovations by public rangeland management agencies; and opportunities for habitat conservation in urbanized areas. He is part of USU's Climate Adaptation Science faculty and is an author of the 5th National Climate Assessment.
