Aug. 18, 2017 -- Mormon scholars from around the nation gathered at Utah State University in March to present what turned out to be a successful, informative and popular conference called "New Perspectives on Joseph Smith and Translation."

The conference's title refers to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints founder's distinctive practice of "translating" what are now considered to be Mormon scriptures.

Videos of the two-day conference's presentations are now online. The collection of videos includes presentations by Mormon scholars like Richard Bushman, the biographer of Joseph Smith, and Terryl Givens, a prolific writer on Mormon issues and the James A. Bostwick Chair in English at the University of Richmond.

The videos can be viewed at http://faithmatters.org which along with the USU Department of History/Religious Studies sponsored the conference.
