Minor

Overview

The Japanese minor at USU provides students with the tools necessary for advanced Japanese language and culture study. Through beginning and advanced language classes, cultural studies of classic and contemporary Japanese film and literature, and a unique calligraphy course, graduates will leave prepared to enter an international community and advance their Japanese language education.

Career Application

Graduating with a Japanese minor allows students to seek employment on a global scale. Graduates of this program can pursue many career options including interpretation, government translation, foreign intelligence, language teaching, banking/finance, and more.

Get Involved

Japanese Club

Pound mochi, participate in Sports Day celebrations, and practice your Japanese with fellow students and native speakers.

Study Abroad

Study languages in their native contexts and gain greater understanding of the ways that language influences populations and cultures.

TALC Language Labs

Studying language at USU? Visit the Technology Assisted Language Center to print assignments, visit with tutors, and read native language media.
