Biography

Dr. J.P. Spicer-Escalante is a Full Professor of Hispanic Studies at Utah State University where he has taught Latin American literature and cinema since 2003. He is the author of Visiones patológicas nacionales: Lucio Vicente López, Eugenio Cambaceres y Julián Martel ante la distopía argentina finisecular (2006) and Au Naturel: (Re)Reading Hispanic Naturalism (2010). Since 2020, his main focus has been on Socio-Cultural and Documentary Photography and Videography. His work in these areas has been exhibited in the United States, Europe, and South America, as well as in international venues.
