Lawrence O. Cannon Teaching Excellence Award Nominations

All students, faculty, and staff members in CHaSS are invited to nominate faculty members for this award; self-nominations will also be accepted. This award is open to faculty members of any rank who have taught for at least 5 years in CHaSS.

Nominations will be reviewed by the college’s associate deans, who will then make a recommendation to the dean. After their initial review of nominations, the associate deans may request additional materials from nominees.

Nomination materials:

  • A letter of no more than 500 words that describes the faculty member’s sustained teaching success both inside and outside the classroom, including student impact and outcomes
  • If available to the nominator, a CV of no more than two pages that highlights the faculty member’s accomplishments in teaching may be included

The announcement will be the culminating moment at the CHaSS Awards Ceremony. The awardee will receive $4,000 and a plaque.

Nominations are due December 15 to the CHaSS Deans Office (338 OM) or via email to chass@usu.edu.
