Exhibit of Silent Scream, The Other Children Documentary & Panel
Exhibition
The event will begin with a screening of The Other Children Documentary, which highlights the difficult journey faced by thirteen children who had to endure their pain in silence in Turkiye. This will be followed by a panel discussion and interactive sessions on human rights violations and their lasting effects on the victims and the community at large. The evening will conclude with the Exhibition of Silent Screams featuring the memories of hundreds of people from all walks of life who have faced oppression and marginalization. This event is made possible in partnership with Silenced Turkey, the United Nations Association of Utah, Emerald Hills Institute, the USU Departments of Sociology, Anthropology, and Criminal Justice, Mountain West Center for Regional Studies, Center for Community, Heravi Peace Institute, and the Cache Refugee and Immigrant Connection. We are grateful for their support and collaboration.

Social Work Mini Conference

The Transforming Communities Institute, in collaboration with the Department of Social Work, is hosting the 3rd annual USU Social Work Mini Conference on Friday, March 21 from 12-4 PM. This fully virtual, half-day conference offers participants the opportunity to earn up to 4 hours of continuing education, including one hour of ethics and one hour of suicide prevention. Registration is $50, with free access for current field instructors and social work students (please contact TCI@usu.edu for promo codes).
