Aminata was born and raised in Ivory Coast. She speaks two African dialects, Dioula and Senoufo, in addition to French, her country’s official language. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Language and Communication Sciences in 2016 and her master’s degree in Communication in 2017, both from the University Alassane Ouattara in Ivory Coast. Later in 2017, Aminata received her teaching certificate. She taught elementary school children from different backgrounds for one year. In late 2018, she moved to the United States to further her studies. In 2020 she started the Intensive English Language Institute (IELI) program at USU to improve her English skills to prepare for graduate studies. The IELI program provided her with an excellent learning experience that enhanced her academic, social, professional, and cross-cultural understanding. In 2022, Aminata discovered the Master of Second Language Teaching (MSLT) program. She believes the MSLT program is a great fit for her and will help her learn advanced language teaching methods and theories to strengthen her teaching skills to help students learn French more efficiently. Aminata is enthusiastic, articulate, and always willing to help others.
