Biography

I have been a lifelong language learner. Growing up in Poland, I have attempted to learn several world languages and understand what it takes to become comfortable using a new language. I see language learning as a way to connect with others, so I chose to become a language instructor. I have taught English as an additional language in Poland and in the US. I enjoy teaching all skills and levels of English at USU. I also direct the Intensive English Language Institute, working to help language learners succeed in their academic and professional goals. My research and scholarship focus on game-enhanced writing experiences for English language learners. I have taught undergraduate and graduate courses on learning and game-enhanced instruction and mentored English language instructors and student-teachers. I have traveled the world extensively, exploring its cultures and connecting to its people. I enjoy trying out the local cuisine, cooking and sharing food, hiking, skiing, and baseball. I also love music and dancing.
