Assistant Professor Travis Franks recently published "Uncanny Encounters and Haunting Colonial Histories in Australia's Reconciliation-Era Narratives" in Settler Colonial Studies.

“This article,” Travis says, “comes from a chapter of my book-in-progress and is closely related to the article I published last semester in ariel. I analyze changing representations of violent colonial history in three works by well-known contemporary Australian writers—Henry Reynolds, Alex Miller, and Kim Scott. Like my previous article, this piece critiques the shortcomings of reconciliation politics in Australia and highlights the work of Aboriginal novelists, theorists, and activists.”
