North American Review literary magazine has recently named their winners, runners-up, and finalists for the 2022 James Hearst Poetry competition judged by Natalie Diaz. USU’s Senior Lecturer and Logan City Poet Laureate Shanan Ballam was chosen as a finalist for her poem “The Baby Pig.” With its “interesting subject matter and consummate poetic craft,” the piece will be published in the NAR Spring 2022 issue.
