Hannah Stevens

Hannah Stevens, PhD candidate and English Department graduate instructor, has recently published her article, “Publicly Available, Transparent, and Explicit: An Analysis of Academic Publishing Policy and Procedure Documents,” in Communication Design Quarterly. The piece “forwards tangible changes to academic publishing process documents to ensure that inclusion remains an important consideration in the drafting of publishing policy and guideline documents.”

“This research project is particularly important to me because it led to my dissertation research on publication processes including peer review,” says Hannah. “I am so thankful to the University Press of Colorado (UPC), particularly Rachael Levay and Darrin Pratt, for working with me as I performed this research on UPC’s policies.”

Hannah Stevens is a PhD candidate in the Technical Communication and Rhetoric program. As far as research interests, she brings to her PhD work a background in feminist analysis that is layered onto her work with public policy along with considerations of race, class, disability, and other factors.
