“Granite Ledges,” a short story by Melody Graulich, Emeritus Professor of English and American Studies, will be published in the Fall 2020 issue of Ploughshares. Established in 1971, Ploughshares is a leading literary journal dedicated to discovering and cultivating the freshest voices in contemporary American literature. A distinguished scholar of American literature and culture who published fifty essays and several books of cultural and feminist criticism during her academic career, Dr. Graulich began to write fiction upon retirement.
