Ph.D. Candidate and Alum Published in Communication Design Quarterly
Cana Uluak Itchuaqiyaq, who will complete her Ph.D. in Technical Communication and Rhetoric 2021, and Dr. Breeanne Matheson, a 2018 program alum, have recently published their article “Decolonizing Decoloniality: Considering the (Mis)use of Decolonial Frameworks in TPC Scholarship” in Communication Design Quarterly. In it, they “assess the ways that the field uses ‘decolonial’ and propose a centralized definition of ‘decolonial’ that focuses on rematriation of Indigenous land and knowledges.”
Cana will be joining the faculty of Virginia Polytechnic Institute in the Fall as an Assistant Professor; Breeanne is an Assistant Professor at Utah Valley University.
