Associate Professor Josi Russell Speaks at Helicon West

Associate Professor Josi Russell was the featured speaker at Helicon West’s August event at the Thatcher-Young Mansion in Logan. Josi read from two of her novels, the science fiction tale Shadows of Empyriad which is the first entry of The Empyriad Series, and Hen Pecked, book four of her Aloha Chicken Mysteries. Shadows of Empryiad is a science fiction novel about aliens from a dying planet who seek refuge in “Yellowstone Global Park” amidst ongoing human land wars. Hen Pecked concerns the ongoing adventures of Saffron Skye (eleven books and counting), the owner of an egg farm in Hawaii. Her reading was followed by a discussion of what led her to the creative life as a writer across multiple genres.
