English Department Faculty and Graduate Students Awarded OER Grant

Professor Ryan Moeller and Technical Communication and Rhetoric PhD students Hannah Stevens and Wesley Mathis were recently awarded summer funding from the Open Educational Resource (OER) Program team at USU Libraries. This CHaSS Summer Graduate Student-Faculty Funding opportunity will be used to develop a much-needed resource for teaching technical editing from a social justice perspective. Ryan, Hannah, and Wesley will share a draft of the resource and solicit content in a workshop at the annual Association of Teachers of Technical Writing (ATTW) conference. The theme of this year’s conference is “Taking Action: Reimagining Just Futures in Technical Communication.” The OER textbook is designed to replace expensive textbooks in technical editing courses at USU and across the United States.
