Brock Dethier

Biography

Brock Dethier, writing teacher, teacher of teachers, poet, and author of books for writers and writing teachers, arrived in Cache Valley in 1997 and retired from USU in 2018 after directing the composition program for 11 years. His publications include The Composition Instructor’s Survival Guide; From Dylan to Donne: Bridging English and Music; First Time Up: An Insider’s Guide for New Composition Instructors; and 21 Genres and How to Write Them. In poetry, he has published Ancestor Worship and Reclamation.
