Biography

Ben Gunsberg has been at Utah State since 2012. He teaches courses in Creative Writing and English Education. Drawn from both free and formal verse traditions, his poems explore an assortment of subjects and appear as print-based, alphanumeric text as well as multimedia assemblages. His most recent poetry collection, Welcome, Dangerous Life, examines the tenuous relationships that bind us to one another and to the natural world. Gunsberg’s work appears in numerous literary magazines, including Poetry Daily, Mid-American Review, and Tupelo Quarterly Review. He has also published a chapbook of poems, Rhapsodies with Portraits. Gunsberg’s scholarship, which appears in journals such as Computers and Composition, Teaching/Writing, and The Journal of Creative Writing Studies, often investigates the impact of digital technology on teaching and learning. He directs the English Department’s Graduate Specialization in Creative Writing.
