Law & Society Area Studies

Certificate

Overview

The Law and Society Area Studies Certificate is an interdisciplinary program designed to emphasize the relationship between law and society. Students will take classes and gain skills from several different areas, including sociology, social work, political science, general management and more. Courses taken to satisfy the requirements of certification programs may also be used to fulfill general education requirements and requirements for a major.

Career Application

This certificate is a great fit for students interested in law school, public administration, counseling or law enforcement-related careers to supplement their degree with a firm understanding of how the law and society as a whole interact with one another. The multidisciplinary approach will enable students to grasp a wider view of law and its function within social issues.
