The Greek Language minor emphasis at USU gives students the chance to study a language that lives on as a backdrop of the modern world. Through studying works from authors like Plato, Homer, Euripides, Sophocles and Xenophon, students will enhance their research and practical skills while gaining an understanding of the ways that Greek culture influenced contemporary culture, law, and science.
An understanding of ancient Greek is essential in preparation for advanced work in classics and other historical fields. Employment opportunities will vary depending on the major, but the emphasis on building foundational knowledge and skills will enhance graduates’ chosen career paths as they seek careers in philosophy, literature, law, or archival work.
