Tenant Education Certificate
Drs. Jess Lucero and Jayme Walters, alongside community partners at Bear River Association of Governments and the Local Homeless Council gathered qualitative data from renters in the Bear River region regarding perceptions of existing tenant education resources for current or formerly homelessness individuals. Furthermore, the group interviewed landlords to better understand their perspectives on what factors contribute to their tenants’ stability and success as renters. With input from community partners, students designed a preliminary program framework and Drs. Lucero and Walters are currently collaborating with Utah Housing Coalition to imagine ways to scale a tenant education resource for Utahns.
