Emma Van Der Spek

Biography

Emma is a first-year MSW student on the USU Eastern Campus in Price. She graduated, in the Spring of 2021, with a Bachelor of Science in Human Development & Family Studies with an emphasis on Family & Community Services. Emma is currently the TRIO-Upward Bound Carbon & Emery Coordinator on the USU Eastern campus. She has a passion for helping low-income and first-generation high school students achieve their goal of higher education. As a first-generation student herself, it is rewarding to be a mentor to students in her community. She plans to continue working with students as a school social worker when she receives her MSW.
