
Overview
The Leadership and Diplomacy Certificate of Proficiency aims to increase student awareness, knowledge, and skills that will make them more effective leaders, communicators, negotiators, and problem solvers in their respective careers and communities locally, nationally, and internationally.
Real World Application
This interdisciplinary certificate program is open to all majors although all students in the program must choose between a domestic or an international/global track of study. The dual tracks aim to ensure that all students in the program graduate with key communication skills as well as a developed understanding of government and governmental processes, either at the national/local or the international/global level. This foundation will help students exert leadership in a variety of professions, including:

Leadership Project
The program aims to educate students in the multidimensional aspects and avenues of leadership, and encourages students to become actively involved in their university and broader communities. As part of this, all students in the program are required to participate in a seminar on public policy and community leadership.

Real Experience
As a capstone, all students in this program must complete either a domestic or international internship, offered through and or working with USU’s Institute of Government and Politics (IOGP) or Global Engagement Office (GEO).
