First year PhD student attends Formal Demography workshop through UC Berkeley

Mudasir Mustafa, a first year PhD student in the department, was a selected attendee for a Formal Demography workshop in June through the University of California, Berkeley. This virtual workshop dealt with Bayesian methods, hierarchical models, and forecasting of population. She was also accepted for two oral presentations to present her research at the American Public Health Association (APHA) meeting in October, 2020. One paper will discuss HIV/AIDS knowledge and stigma, while the other research highlights the predictors of problematic use of mobile phones and sleeplessness in Pakistan. The former research paper is being done in collaboration with Dr. Hyojun Park.
