He is working primarily with Dr. Courtney Flint and Dr. Jessica Schad as a research assistant on the Transformation Network project, studying wellbeing and adaptive governance across urban-rural gradients and as they relate to localized natural resource dynamics. Alex is originally from northern Michigan and completed his undergraduate degree at Colgate University, where he majored in Environmental Geography and minored in Sociology. Alex has previous work experience with the Michigan-based nonprofit For Love Of Water, where he focused on groundwater governance and worked to help stakeholders shape Michigan’s groundwater policy. Alex hopes to obtain master’s and Ph.D. degrees in the future, with the goal of working as a professor while teaching sociology and continuing his research
