Biography

Aaron Arredondo’s research intersects the areas of critical migration studies and the racialization of space in sociology. He draws on ethnographic and participatory methods to examine dynamics of race, labor, and migration across diversifying community-organizational contexts. Aaron’s research has centered Latinx experiences of racialized space in community and work to advance sociological understandings of racialized inclusion-exclusion. Similarly, he is developing a community-based project documenting migrant group experiences of place and belonging in northern Utah’s Cache Valley. Aaron’s work has been published in Ethnic and Racial Studies as well as Sociological Inquiry. And supported by the American Sociological Association (NSF DDRIG) as well as the Labor Research & Action Network (Jobs With Justice Education Fund).
