About the Position

Tribune interns will have an opportunity to work as staff members in our newsroom with professional journalists. Interns may write daily stories, contribute to a newsletter or help execute on a social media campaign.

Responsibilities

Our interns fill a variety of shifts in the newsroom, and your assignment may include night or weekend work. We will provide onboarding training as well as informational sessions with newsroom staff.

Qualifications

Candidates should have a basic understanding of news standards and ethics, and experience in publishing journalism. You should be able to meet deadlines, report thoroughly, write clearly and grasp the elements of storytelling, recognizing visual opportunities and social connections. Visual journalists should be skilled in photography and video. Digital interns should bring an understanding of how to reach new audiences with differentiated content.

  • Location: Dependent on COVID Restrictions
  • Pay: $10/hr
  • Time Period: ~10 weeks, varied start times according to applicants' school schedule
