Jessenia has served as PRSSA chapter president this year, and is doing an excellent job leading the chapter. Jessenia was also first runner-up in the recent 2021 Utah PR Student of the Year competition sponsored by Salt Lake PRSA. She also continues to be an excellent student, and was just this week hired to work in public relations by the well-respected Intrepid Agency in Salt Lake.
Kimberly served four years in Utah State ACT and helped lead our community service project and membership activities that were recognized by the National Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow chapter, winning two chapter of the year awards in 2021. She worked as an undergraduate student researcher focused on local food marketing projects and served as the social media intern for the Utah Local Food Advisory Council.
Sarah Murphy applies herself on everything she does. She takes our feedback and applies that ot the next thing she does, shoing she has learned the skills and uses them to create top-notch products. And most importantly, she brings her fellow students along. The entire group of students around her is stronger because she reaches out and mentors her fellow media production students through working with them and giving them encouraging feedback.
Cody Phelps is the USU JCOM and communication department's outstanding print journalist. Graduating from USU in May, he has spent the past three years as editor of The Eagle where his staff won over 60 awards at the Utah Press Association's Becer Newspaper Contest. His favorite stories to write are features, editorials and movie reviews, he and says he hopes to never write another COVID story again.
Camille has been a dedicated student who has grown exponentially through her time in this program. She helped to establish and run social media for the This is Her Place podcast. In class, she has been a creative, thoughtful student who has initiated conversations that inspire her fellow students to see different ways of accomplishing things.
Mufti Nadimul Quamar Ahmed is a graduate student in his second year, pursuing a doctorate in sociology at USU. He recently helped survey Utahns to see if environmental concerns affect the decision to have children.
