Biography
Colleen O’Neill is an Associate Professor of History and former coeditor of the Western Historical Quarterly. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in US history, Native American history, and history of the US West. In 2019 she published “Testing the Limits of Colonial Parenting: Navajo Domestic Workers, The Intermountain Indian School, and the Urban Relocation Program, 1950-1962” in Ethnohistory. Her most recent book is Working the Navajo Way: Labor and Culture in the Twentieth Century. She is currently finishing a book, Labor and Sovereignty: the Transformation of Work in Indian Country, 1890 to the present, and starting a new project entitled The Life and Times of Rosa McKay: The Progressive Roots of Arizona Politics.
