Landon Wilkey

Landon Wilkey with a Cache Valley Aviation display

Due to Landon's interest in museum work, he focused on the newly available public history track. In addition to taking some fantastic courses, he had the opportunity to do an internship with the Merrill-Cazier Library's Special Collections and Archives, as well as a curatorial fellowship with the Brigham City Museum of Art and History.

His studies culminated in a graduate project entitled, "Cache Valley: An Airminded Community." This was a traveling exhibit exploring the history of local aviation history, encouraging visitors to be airminded. He completed his MA degree in Fall 2019.

Thanks to his graduate studies, as well as experience gained as an undergrad at USU, Landon was hired by the Historic Wendover Airfield as their first museum curator. He has a diverse job description that includes collections management, exhibition design, guiding tours, and historic preservation. The History Department at USU opened so many doors for him, and he is grateful for the faculty he had the opportunity to work with and the knowledge they shared with him.
