Biography
John D. Barton is a Principal Lecturer at USU Uintah Basin, where he has taught since 1988. He teaches U.S., Utah, Western, and Native American history in both traditional and online settings. Recent publications include Upon the Shoulders of Giants: A Brief History of Utah State University’s Regional Campus System, 2016, and "Reflections on Thirty Years of Teaching for Utah State University Distance Education" in Journal on Empowering Teaching Excellence, 2018. His chapter “The Evolution of Distance Education at Utah State University” is published in Interdisciplinary Approaches to Distance Teaching: Connecting Classrooms in Theory and Practice.
