Biography
Dominic D. Z. Sur is an Assistant Professor of Religious Studies teaching courses in world religion and Buddhism, among others. Dr. Sur's publications include Entering the Way of the Great Vehicle: Dzogchen as the Culmination of the Mahāyāna (2017). He is presently working on two projects: a study of the rise of scholasticism and sectarian identity in eleventh century Tibet; and a study of Tibet's tantric philosophy, especially the use of normative Indian epistemology (pramāṇa) in the service of validating the visionary experiences of advanced contemplative and tantric practices.
