Biography
Amanda Katz is an Assistant Professor of U.S. History, specializing in the American West, infrastructure and technology, and environmental, urban, and public/applied history. She offers undergraduate and graduate courses in these areas of specialization, and her current research project focuses on rural roads and the development of American highway engineering. She has held two A.W. Mellon Fellowships – one in digital history and one in applied history – and her research has been supported by the University of Michigan’s Bentley Library, the State Historical Society of Iowa, and the Lexington Group for Transportation History.
