Transforming Communities Initiative (TCI)

The TCI is a community-based research initiative in the Department of Social Work at Utah State University that brings together faculty, students, and communities. We partner with local governments, organizations, and community groups to address the most pressing needs in Utah communities.

Mission

Through researchteaching, and action, the Transforming Communities Initiative (TCI) strives to meet community-identified needs in Utah through building community partnerships that enable us to:

  1. Conduct research in, with, and for the community.
  2. Teach the next generation of social work leaders to be data-driven and civically engaged.
  3. Take action in our communities to challenge social injustices and pursue social change.
