 FAQ's

What is the CHaSS Alumni & Student Networking Night?

The CHaSS Networking Night is for CHaSS juniors, seniors, and graduate students to meet CHaSS alumni. You get to have a nice dinner with the alum of your choice, hear about how they paved their road to success, and ask them for their career advice. Last year’s networking night was so successful that we have expanded the opportunities. Nineteen alumni from all different majors in CHaSS will be there, and you can choose which grads you sit with during the event. No need to bring your resume or feel like you need to have your “elevator pitch” ready.  This is a casual event, and our alumni are looking forward to visiting students who are at the point of imagining what their next step will be.  Don’t miss this opportunity!

The actual banquet, which consists of a free dinner and social hour, will be held from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. in the Taggart Student Center West Ballroom, on the USU Logan campus, on Monday March 23, 2020. You will be seated at a table with an 1-2 alumni and 6-7 other students.

Can I choose who I sit with?

You may choose your table to sit at. Tables are filled, first-come, first-served. Once your table reservation is made it cannot be changed. For more questions concerning seating please email natalie.archibald@usu.edu.

Is there a cost to attend?

The event is free for both students and alumni. We hope this is a rewarding opportunity for you share a little of your time and experience with your fellow Aggies.

What is the dress for the evening?

The dress is business professional.

What is expected of students?

You should be prepared to meet as many of the alumni attendees as possible. These alumni are here to meet and help you.

How should I prepare for the event?

Please arrive promptly at 6 p.m.

Are any of the alumni attending hiring?

Many of the alumni are in hiring positions or may have internships available. If you are interested, we suggest you ask them if they know of any current opportunities.

What is needed from me now to participate?

We need a firm commitment that you can participate that evening, which is why we require you to register. It’s a special opportunity to meet with these alumni guests, so please don’t take the experience lightly.

Will I be limited to meeting just those alumni at my table?

We’ve set aside informal social time before and after the dinner to enable you to meet many of the alumni attendees as possible.

What if I still have questions about the event?

You may email Natalie Smoot at natalie.archibald@usu.edu who will respond as quickly as possible during working hours.
