About the Position

FamilySearch is looking for a marketing intern who can assist with our annual conference, RootsTech. This intern will help with all aspects of marketing for the conference and will serve an important role in bringing the conference to life. They should diligent, motivated and a self-starter who is willing to jump in and get the job done. This position will touch many, if not all the marketing efforts for the conference so it is important for this person to be able to adapt on the fly and switch between social media and email, to public relations and influencer marketing.


  • Assist with all aspects of marketing for the conference including, but not limited to, email marketing, Google Ads, Facebook Ads, and all other digital channels.
  • Maintain and update ongoing marketing calendar
  • Develop content for social media
  • Help with copywriting on ads, landing pages and with the blog
  • Work directly with a 3rd party agency on developing promotional materials
  • Assist with maintaining translations for marketing materials
  • Work on pre, during and post event communication
  • Help execute the marketing strategy
  • Maintain key marketing metrics
  • Any other responsibilities to help support the conference


  • Current enrollment in an undergraduate program for marketing, communications or similar degree
  • Familiarity with social media channels and other digital marketing platforms
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Good understanding of the latest trends and techniques in marketing
  • Must have a passion for marketing
  • Ability to multi-task and thrive in a high-energy environment
  • Works well individually and as part of a team Worthiness Qualification Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently temple worthy.
  • One to two evenings required per week
