Nathan Straight is interested in the relationships between places and people. His scholarship includes an ecocritical study of contemporary western autobiography (Autobiography, Ecology, and the Well-Placed Self, 2011) and multiple publications and presentations on the importance of place-responsive higher education. His wider research and teaching interests include anti-racist critical studies, indigenous studies, and environmental justice. As a statewide faculty member, Dr. Straight broadcasts his courses to students all across Utah as they pursue their educational goals in the places they call home. He lives in Salt Lake City and teaches from USU’s Tooele Campus.
