The communication studies and philosophy programs emphasize public engagement in both research and classroom settings. Small class sizes allow for full engagement with students and faculty to address big ideas, dive deeply to understand social issues, and learn how to communicate effectively, even when conflicts arise.

Our Programs

This program provides students with communication and human relations competencies and the critical thinking skills required for success in a variety of careers. Students receive a well-rounded education in speech communication and its related areas, including courses in debate, conflict resolution, public speaking, and more.

The philosophy program is a small, intimate program where students have the opportunity to pursue undergraduate research and receive individual mentoring from faculty. Through the program, students develop skills that allow them to generate ideas, solve problems, and communicate effectively.
